Everything Busimy does
Busimy is the app to manage your household’s money, on your own or shared with your partner, your family or whoever you live with, in any currency. Here’s everything it does, explained calmly.
Sharing: the household and clear accounts
A household is the group you share expenses with: your partner, your family, roommates. You can be in several households and switch between them, and using Busimy on your own, sharing nothing, works great too.
- Email invitations: each person joins with their own account and sees the household’s things, never the others’ personal ones.
- Mine or ours: each entry is personal (only you see it and it creates no debts) or the household’s (split among its members).
- Who paid: any member, and an expense can be someone else’s (you paid something for your partner).
- How it’s split: evenly, by fixed percentages, by what each person earns (each one sets their income, in their currency) or not split, when the household’s money is everyone’s (say, one income and a family that spends).
- Clear accounts: Busimy works out who owes whom instantly, in each currency, and you settle up with a payment between members.
- To leave a household you must be square: nobody leaves owing.
Events: a barbecue, a trip, a birthday
For the costs of an occasion, with people who aren’t always your household.
- Everyone logs what they paid and Busimy splits it evenly (an expense can leave someone out).
- Who owes whom, with as few transfers as possible.
- People join with a link, even if they’re not in your household.
- An expense you already logged (the meat you paid by card) can be added to the event without counting twice.
- Only your share counts as your expense; what you paid for others or got back isn’t spending or income.
Logging entries
- Expenses, income, currency exchanges and transfers between wallets.
- Each entry with a category, payment method, date (always with a calendar) and note.
- Amounts with thousands separators as you type, in any currency.
- Advanced options for the less common: "I haven’t paid it yet" (it becomes a debt) or "I haven’t been paid yet", and tying it to an investment (say, the fees of a flat you rent out).
- Your own categories and subcategories, up to six levels.
- Change history: who logged or edited each thing is recorded.
AI entry
The fastest way to log: type or dictate it the way you’d say it, and Busimy builds the entry. Nothing is saved until you check it.
- Phrases like "groceries 42 with the Visa" or "paid Anna 300 dollars for rent": it understands the amount, currency, category, payment method, date and split.
- Card statements: upload the PDF or a photo and it finds the charges and installments.
- Import an investment portfolio from a PDF, screenshots or a spreadsheet: it creates or updates it, and shows what’s new, what changed and what’s gone.
- A photo of a receipt or invoice: it reads the final total, merchant and date, and suggests the category.
- A screenshot of your bank’s activity: it separates expenses and income and categorizes each one. What you already logged, and moves between your own accounts, come unticked.
- It learns your categories: change a merchant’s category and it remembers it, and offers to change the earlier ones.
- The free plan includes some AI uses a month.
Wallets, payment methods and cards
- Wallets: where the money is (cash, bank accounts, digital wallets), with their balance in each currency and their history.
- Payment methods: cash, debit, credit, transfer and your own, each with the wallet it takes money from by default.
- Credit cards: closing and due dates, the next statement and the installments left.
- Pay the card statement from the wallet you choose.
Any currency
Busimy never mixes currencies: each one has its own balance, and conversions only show up where you ask for them, with the rate in sight.
- Every currency in the world, and your own (a crypto, points, whatever you need).
- Currency exchanges at the real rate you got.
- The total in the currency you pick, at today’s rate, whenever you want to see it.
- If you’re in Argentina: official, MEP, blue and card dollar, picking which one each entry uses.
Budgets and metrics
- Budgets by category, monthly, weekly, yearly or any dates you like, repeating by themselves.
- How much you’ve spent and how much is left, at any moment.
- Metrics: where the money goes, how it changes month to month, income against spending and your net worth.
- A period filter to look at this month, the last one or any range.
- Sections that fold and stay the way you left them.
Investments
How much you put in, what it’s worth and what it returned, whatever kind of investment it is.
- Market: shares, ETFs and crypto with a quantity and a price. Search the asset by name or symbol and its price updates by itself (in Argentina, local shares and CEDEARs too).
- Fixed income: term deposits and bonds with a rate (nominal or effective) and a maturity; interest adds up by itself and you can roll it over.
- Properties: each month’s rent waits for you to confirm it was paid, and their costs (fees, repairs) are logged tied to it.
- Your business, or money put into someone else’s, and any other investment.
- Contribute and withdraw from your wallets; the first value is what you invested, and the return counts from there.
- Total and annual return, multiple, and metrics by period with filters.
- Closing an investment keeps its history; reorder them by dragging; their own photo or icon.
Debts and loans
- What you owe: a loan, a purchase in installments, a mortgage. And what you’re owed.
- Plans: free-form, fixed installments or with interest (French or German system), with a grace period.
- Pay each installment from a wallet, make extra payments and pay off early, seeing how much interest you save.
- A loan to invest: the investment shows how much is yours and how much borrowed.
- Lending to someone: "Lent to" and "Paid back by" move the money without counting as spending or income.
- If you’re in Argentina: UVA loans, with each day’s UVA value.
Net worth
What you have in wallets and investments minus what you owe, in the currency you choose. You see it on the home and in metrics, and Busimy remembers the currency you picked.
Privacy and security
- Only you see what’s personal; only its members see the household’s. Nobody else.
- Sign in with Google or Apple, or with email and password.
- Two-step verification, with recovery codes.
- You can delete your account whenever you want.
Your way
- In English or Spanish.
- Light, dark or automatic mode (it follows your device).
- In your browser, on your computer or phone, always in sync; it tells you when there’s a new version.
