How to track your Mercado Pago spending automatically

The simplest way to track your Mercado Pago spending is to connect the account to a finance app that reads it for you: each QR, online or card payment arrives with its real amount and a suggested category, and you just review and confirm. Without connecting, the alternative is a screenshot of your activity that an AI turns into entries.

Why Mercado Pago spending slips through

  • There are many small payments: coffee, parking, a QR at the corner shop. Logging them one by one doesn’t last.
  • The amount you see when paying isn’t always the real one: there are discounts, coupons and installments with interest.
  • They mix with transfers between your own accounts, which aren’t spending.
  • You pay from the same app with your balance or with different cards, and each comes out of a different place.

What a good connection should do

  • Bring payments and income in by itself, without you copying anything from Mercado Pago.
  • Use what you really paid: with the discount applied and the installments’ interest.
  • Tell apart what you paid from your balance and what you paid with a card, so each expense lands in the right place.
  • Not count moves between your own accounts as spending.
  • Be read-only: unable to pay or move money.

Review in batches, once a day or a week

What works is logging nothing at the moment and reviewing everything together: open the list, check each expense has the right category, drop what doesn’t belong and confirm. It takes a couple of minutes and nothing slips through.

How Busimy does it

In Busimy you connect your Mercado Pago account once and your payments and income arrive by themselves, ready to review. Each comes with its category: the one you already use for that merchant or one the AI suggests. What you paid from your balance goes to your Mercado Pago virtual wallet, and what you paid with a card, to that card. You get a notice when there are new ones and log them in a batch, or open each in the full editor; each one can go to the household or stay just yours.

Busimy only reads your activity: it can’t pay or move money. The connection is yours, not the household’s, and you can cut it whenever you want. It’s available to households that use Argentine pesos.

Frequently asked questions

Can Busimy move money from my Mercado Pago?
No. The connection is read-only: it sees your payments and income, nothing else.
Are they logged by themselves or do I confirm them?
They arrive by themselves, but nothing is saved until you review it, so nothing goes in with the wrong category.
What about transfers between my accounts?
Topping up from your bank comes unticked, since it is neither spending nor income.
And if I don’t want to connect the account?
You can upload a screenshot of your Mercado Pago activity and the AI turns it into entries to review.
